43,614 fans were treated to a fine game at Minute Maid Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Burbank Tigers won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
In the 7th inning Burbank went on top for good plating an isolated run.
Chicago could do no damage in the bottom of the 9th.
The victory went to Barry Zito(2-1) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing 3
runs. Zito was helped out by Giovanni Carrara who recorded his 3rd save.
Jose Mesa(1-2) was hit with the loss in relief.
'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Zito, 'I was just
giving us a chance to win.'
